This report contains the survey results which show a strong disconnect between victims of domestic violence seeking help from law enforcement and the support those authorities are tasked with providing. The report highlights a number of factors that create major obstacles for victims attempting to cope with domestic violence – from distrust of the authorities to fear of punishment from their abusive partner.

This brief examines urban and rural differences in the community context of partner violence and the effectiveness of protective orders. The study uses data from an urban area and a rural area in Central Appalachia in Kentucky.

This study addresses several gaps in the research literature on civil protective orders by examining protective order effectiveness, enforcement, and cost effectiveness.

Anti-rape activists need to better understand the agendas that propel this campaign, be more aware of the effort's aims, and take more effective steps to combat this deliberate campaign of misinformation. The overall goal of this paper is to address some of the issues relevant to the controversy over rape statistics. The controversy over the prevalence of rape is explored in this paper in four sections. The first section will examine current trends in rape prevalence.
