This publication of the Building Comprehensive Solutions to Domestic Violence (BCSDV) project describes the process that Wisconsin domestic violence advocates went through to assess how well their programs and procedures were meeting the needs of battered women and their children. The author discusses how the needs and perspectives of communities of color were included, and how program self-assessment and planning changed the domestic violence services and funding in the state
