Gender-based violence organizations have a responsibility and an opportunity to support the survivors on their staff on their healing journey by creating survivor-centered workplaces that help staff stay employed and support their financial security and long-term safety. In the November 2021 TAQ, guest authors from FreeFrom outline actionable recommendations for how organizations can start building survivor-centered workplaces. 

In order to address white supremacy and racism, movement leadership must recognize the historical contributions of women of color, create supportive equitable work environments that emphasize anti-racist practices, and maintain accountability structures. NRCDV recommends the 11 data-driven strategies listed in this document to further women of color’s advancement.

In this pre-recorded webinar, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV) partnered with Diana “Dede” Yazzie-Devine, President and CEO of Native American Connections, an organization improving the lives of individuals and families through Native American culturally appropriate behavioral health, affordable housing, and community development services.

Families are the primary providers to meet children’s needs; the safety and well-being of children depends on the safety and well-being of all family members. As both researchers and child protection caseworkers know well, there is a high rate of co-occurrence of child maltreatment and domestic violence. This best practice guide was developed to support local child welfare agency staff as they engage with families experiencing co-occurring domestic violence and child maltreatment.

These funding opportunities are for survivors of domestic violence and domestic violence advocates. All grants are available to a national audience.

This self-assessment tool helps reflect on your organization’s current work serving men who have experienced sexual violence. The tool offers reflection questions related to individual and organizational capacity to serve male survivors.

Many nonprofit organizations that provide direct human services are exploring how racial equity and inclusion (REI) and performance measurement collectively inform decision-making and strategies that affect their core mission. Starting from this mission orientation, organizations can benefit from guidance on operationalizing racial equity values within their measurement and evaluation work and acknowledging the systemic barriers that influence client outcomes.

This joint study from PolicyLink and the Bridgespan Group analyzes the state of funding for racial equity work.
