To ensure that we have enough time to plan an accessible training, we are opening registration for our Creating Accessible and Welcoming In-Person Events Training, taking place September 12-14, 2017. This three-day training is designed to enhance the ability of OVW-funded technical assistance providers to create in-person events (conferences, trainings, and roundtables) that are accessible and welcoming to people with disabilities and Deaf people. The training will focus on all stages of planning an event, from initial design and development to post-event wrap-up, including:

Participants should come to the training with an in-person event that they are responsible for hosting in mind. Participants will be given opportunities to apply the lessons learned to that event and will leave the training with an enhanced event design and action plan that accounts for access and inclusion. At this time we are only asking you to register. Please DO NOT make any travel arrangements or hotel reservations. Once we have conference approval from OVW we will contact each person registered and let them know that they can make these arrangements. Register here. |
