The Center for Court Innovation is hosting a training institute in Belleville, MI on June 24 and 25, 2020. The 2-day training event is designed for jurisdictions who would like to learn more about enhancing victim safety and facilitation skills in abusive partner interventions. Sites may send teams of 2-4 people.
The purpose of this training institute is to provide OVW grantees with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience observing offender accountability mechanisms in action; learn from national experts about enhancing victim safety in abusive partner intervention work, fathering after violence work, and programs for women who use force; connect with peers; learn practical engagement and facilitation skills for working with abusive partners; and strategize around ideas to create sustainable abusive partner intervention practices in their own communities. The training institute will highlight the work of Men Stopping Violence, Futures Without Violence, and the Sojourner Family Peace Center.
