Fill Your Treat Bag with Tips & Tools: Meeting the Needs of Domestic Violence Victims during Disasters

Event Date
Tuesday, October 31, 2017, 09:30AM

Please join the Administration for Children and Families, Family and Youth Services Bureau’s Family Violence Prevention and Services division (FVPSA Program) in its observance of national Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). The FVPSA Program will host a 75 minute webinar on the topic of disaster preparedness and response as it intersects with domestic violence and supportive services to victims and survivors. Given the devastating and unfortunate disasters that the country has experienced over recent months, this is a relevant time for us to educate ourselves on these issues.

Presenters will discuss emergency disaster response, how these actions impact victims and survivors of domestic violence, the role of first responders and victim advocates, and ways that we coordinate and implement recovery efforts on local, state, and national levels. Time will be allotted for questions from participants.

How to join:

  • Attend in person to receive DVAM swag and Halloween treats! Switzer Building, Room 3202

  • Join the WebEx Session online and dial in for audio at 202-774-2300, passcode: 995 639 520
