Research-Practice Partnership in Law Enforcement: the Chattanooga Police Department and ELERV

Law enforcement agencies around the country are looking to improve their victim response and community connections. In this webinar from the Center for Victim Research, participants from the Chattanooga Police Department will share their experience incorporating research and evaluation into their efforts to implement the Enhancing Law Enforcement Response to Victims (ELERV) strategy to inform their work and better meet their goals. ELERV is supported by a partnership between the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Office for Victims of Crime, Department of Justice.

Participants in this webinar will learn about:

  • The goals, process, and results of the project needs assessment; 
  • Incorporation of findings into the Chattanooga ELERV project;
  • Outcome measurement efforts; and
  • The benefits and challenges of a researcher-practitioner partnership in a law enforcement setting.\
