Shining a Light on Forced and Child Marriage in the USA: The Search for Human Rights Based Policy Solutions to an Underdiscussed Issue

Event Date
Thursday, September 22, 2022, 12:30PM

This symposium will provide a space for policymakers, advocacy groups, community organizations, academics, and other stakeholders to reflect on the issues of forced and child marriage. Participants will analyze existing marital age policies in light of their outcomes and identify gaps in knowledge  as well as in legislative protections for victims of forced marriage. They will co-develop actionable solutions, and ultimately come away more empowered to safeguard the rights and dignity of women and youth across the country.
