In Their Shoes: An Inclusive LGBTQ Prevention Education Tool That You Should Be Using In Your Community!

Event Date
Tuesday, February 06, 2018, 01:00PM

In this webinar, Ilene Stohl from the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence will join the NW Network to talk about WSCADV’s youth education tool, In Their Shoes. Designed with the classroom in mind, In Their Shoes is an engaging way to talk with young people about healthy relationships and abuse. It is LGBTQ inclusive, and brings racial and social justice issues to the forefront in ways that push the envelope while still fitting within the school setting.  Presenters will discuss  best practices, tips, and tricks for facilitation, including how to manage homophobia that may come up in classrooms regarding the LGBTQ characters.
