A housing trust fund is a policy initiative that addresses affordable housing needs by creating a distinct fund through dedicated public revenues. More than 300 local governments across the United States have initiated such funds. On a federal level, the Housing Trust Fund Project of the Center for Community Change is supporting a National Housing Trust Fund Campaign that would use a dedicated source of revenue to produce, rehabilitate and preserve 1.5 million homes over 10 years.
