How Can Practitioners Help an Abused Woman Lower Her Risk of Death?

General Material
Published Date
November, 2003

The Chicago Women's Health Study found a correlation between homicide, life-threatening incidents, and experiences of intimate partner violence. The study also found that many women who are in abusive relationships try to leave their partners and seek help after a violent incident. The author suggests that medical workers, counselors, and police officers must work together to lower the risk of abuse.
