Studies that explore the lives and challenges of Latina lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQQ) women in Chicago are almost nonexistent. Responding to this alarming lack of information, in 2006 the board of directors of Amigas Latinas initiated the Proyecto Latina: Descubriéndonos survey project in order to document and make known the unique experiences and challenges that Latina LGBTQQ women face in Metropolitan Chicago. This report documents the key findings from the project.
