Sexuality and Child Development

Published Date
September, 2006

It is important that people who guide and work with children have a basic knowledge of the development of sexuality from infancy to adolescence. For each age group (Infancy (0-2), Early Childhood (2-5) , Middle Childhood (5-8) , Late Childhood (9-12)), an introductory discussion of key points related to child sexual development is provided: developmental outcomes, common behaviors, concerns, and learning objectives. In addition, sexual health development outcomes and sexual health educational needs are discussed.
