A coalition of national organizations gathered feedback from nearly six hundred advocates and attorneys from across the U.S., learning that many immigrant victims of domestic and sexual violence are now too afraid to call the police or go to court to get help. Advocates report that survivors have an increased fear of deportation, retaliation by their abusers, and separation from their children.

Who Will Help Me? Domestic Violence Survivors Speak Out About Law Enforcement Responses

The report highlights a number of factors that create major obstacles for victims attempting to cope with domestic violence – from distrust of the authorities to fear of punishment from their abusive partner.

Mental Health and Substance Use Coercion Surveys

Realidades Latinas: A National Survey on the Impact of Immigration and Language Access on Latina Survivors
Publisher(s):This report provides an analysis of the results of a survey administered over a period of six weeks to over 1,300 Hotline callers who identified as Latin@ survivors of domestic violence. The questions were geared towards survivors’ experiences accessing services and demonstrated the challenges faced by survivors due to language access issues.
