Rape and Sexual Assault: A Renewed Call to Action

This report analyzes the most recent, reliable data about rape and sexual assault in our country. It identifies those most at risk of being victims of these crimes, examines the cost of this violence (both to survivors and our communities), and describes the response, too often inadequate, of the criminal justice system. The report catalogues steps this Administration has taken to combat rape and sexual assault, and identifies areas for further action.

The Dynamics in Young Adult Romantic Relationships: Important for Success in Love ‹ and in Life

Most young adults are in romantic relationships and are sexually active. Most of them report high levels of satisfaction in their relationships. But in about 30 percent of these couples, only one partner reported being very satisfied or committed to the relationship. What else do we know about dynamics in young adults' heterosexual relationships? Do men and women get an equal deal? Find out in this brief.

Caring Adults: Important for Positive Child Well-Being

Having a mentor-like adult outside of the home can promote positive well-being for children, and even make them more likely to talk with their parents about things that matter to them. This brief uses data from the National Survey of Children's Health to examine the prevalence of these relationships in the U.S., and the association between having a caring adult and indicators of positive well-being.

Compendium of State and U.S. Territory Statutes and Policies on Domestic Violence and Health Care

This third edition newly titled compendium updates laws and regulations; offers new public health content; provides summaries for U.S. territories; and includes a new chapter: Tribal Codes on Domestic Violence and Promising Programs in Indian Country.

Futures invited staff from every state and territory domestic violence coalition to review their respective summary and provide feedback; the Compendium reflects these comments. Relevant state and territory laws were researched to ensure correct citations through both state legislative web pages and LexisNexus.
