This document builds upon the working group’s previously released product, The Need for Paid Safe Leave & Model Legislative Language, which provided model legislative language regarding paid safe leave. It includes recommendations for when workers can be required to provide documentation for safe leave claims, and, where required, what types of documentation options should be allowed.

The Need for Paid Safe Leave & Model Legislative Language is the first product of the Safe Leave Working Group. The document is a resource for policymakers, advocates, and stakeholders that provides key context for the importance of paid safe leave, this document includes model policy language for providing paid safe leave, which can be used directly or adapted to appropriate contexts. 

This report details the project expansion of the 2022 process evaluation of the flexible funding pilot project conducted by the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV) in partnership with the LGBT Center of Central PA. Specifically, this report describes the findings from a research project that documented the types and quantities of BIPOC LGBTQ survivors' needs addressed through the flexible funding program; the immediate impact of receiving flexible funding on the housing status, safety, and overall well-being of BIPOC LGBTQ survivors; and the experiences of BIPOC LGBTQ survivors receiving support services from a community-based organization that specifically serves LGBTQ individuals.
