The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the largest free volunteer-run tax counseling and preparation service in the United States. Trained volunteers prepare tax returns and answer questions for low and middle income people, with special attention for those 60 years and older. The program also offers assistance for people who cannot leave their home ("shut ins") and provides online tax counseling. Between January-April, the site provides information on sites around the country.
