This article describes a Finnish study of health care professionals and their experience with working with people who have either experienced or been perpetrators of domestic violence. Nurses, social workers, and doctors were included in this study. An initial survey was given in 2008, training was conducted during a four month period in 2008, and the same survey was given again in 2012. In addition, guidelines were developed to help health care providers dealing with domestic violence situations. Improvements that still need to be made to the training program are discussed.
