Transgender and gender non-conforming individuals experience extremely high rates violence, as well as live with higher-than-average rates of physical and mental health conditions. This webinar provides core information and statistics about who transgender people are, the types and magnitude of violence they encounter, and the key intersections between disability and traumatic experience. Service providers will learn constructive, practical, and memorable strategies that will enable them to more effectively work with this multiply-marginalized population, with an overt focus on techniques and concepts that empower both providers and transgender survivors.
