Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence (formerly Legal Community Against Violence) is the only national law center focused on providing comprehensive legal expertise in support of gun violence prevention. This publication includes comprehensive background information, a summary of relevant federal law, and a thorough description of state laws that exceed the federal standard regarding domestic violence related firearms prohibitions. It also includes a section on features of comprehensive laws regarding domestic violence and firearms, intended to provide a framework for consideration of policy options for states and their subdivisions.
