Elder Abuse Cases: Proposed Performance Measures for Courts

The proposed performance measures outlined in this document are complementary to the strategies outlined in “Identifying and Responding to Elder Abuse: A Benchcard for Judges” and “Court Guide to Effective Collaboration on Elder Abuse.” This document offers an overview of performance measures, offers strategies for “flagging” elder abuse cases, and provides logistics and tools required to collect, analyze and interpret each measure. The measures may be used by court administrators and judges as a way to increase effectiveness in handling elder abuse cases.
