A Health Equity and Multisector Approach to Preventing Domestic Violence

General Material
Published Date
July, 2017
Publisher(s)

A multisector health equity approach addresses the underlying contributors to DV and inequities in DV (harmful norms, weak community responses, housing insecurity, economic insecurity, and others) and promotes community environments that support safe and equitable relationships and communities.

This publication offers research, analysis, and frameworks to understand factors within communities that support safe relationships and reduction of domestic violence. It examines domestic violence prevention through a health equity lens, identifying opportunities for an array of community sectors, such as housing, public health, faith-based organizations, and so on, to engage in prevention work.
