This strategy session from NRCDV's 2021 Prevention Town Hall discusses the systematic intersections of poverty, racism, and other forms of oppression, in regards to financial inequity. Speakers present models of prevention support for survivors, and discuss as a group how this can inform future educational and programmatic prevention work.
Building on the momentum from the 2020 Prevention Town Hall featuring the East North Central region of the United States, the 2021 event explored prevention strategies that center survivors who are most marginalized, uplift grassroots and community-based organizing, honor the leadership of survivors and advocates who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and promote real transformative change that centers racial justice in our agencies.
