The Increasing Economic Opportunity for Battered Women newsletter is a forum for sharing ways that domestic violence programs are responding to the economic issues facing battered women, particularly those living in poverty.
The March 2002, (Volume 3, Number 1) fifth issue has a title article "New Visions, New Allies: Creating Domestic Violence and Poverty State Teams" which describes the Domestic Violence and Poverty State Team Leadership Institute held in Connecticut in July 2001. This institute developed teams in six states (CT, ME, MA, NJ, PA, RI) to build and carry out a policy and practice agenda on domestic violence and poverty. Post-Institute state team activities are highlighted.
This newsletter is published as part of the Building Comprehensive Solutions to Domestic Violence initiative, a project of the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence.
