This article details a study of medical students and surgical residents at a university in Ontario, Canada to determine their knowledge and attitudes surrounding Intimate Partner Violence. Results indicated a need for more training on Intimate Partner Violence, as well as a desire for such training expressed by over 75% of respondents. Most respondents underestimated the prevalence of Intimate Partner Violence. Many also had misperceptions about Intimate Partner Violence, such as believing that asking questions about this subject would offend patients.
