Women of color and low-income women in the United States have long struggled to access the same healthcare, and exercise the same constitutionally-protected reproductive rights, as their white and higher-income counterparts. This report presents the historical context surrounding the Hyde Amendment, how abortion coverage bans exacerbate existing health disparities, and the ongoing impact of these bans on Latinas and other women of color, and low-income women. This report concludes with policy recommendations.
