State and Local Bar Associations

General Material
Published Date
January, 2015

This directory links to the contact information of many state and local bar associations. A bar association is a professional organization of attorneys who practice law in the same county, city, or state, or who practice law in a particular topic area (for example: family law). Some bar associations are voluntary, while others require that all attorneys practicing in that location or practicing that area of law are members.

The directory can be searched by entering city and state or zip code and distance, or by selecting a state on the map. Once search information has been entered, a list of bar associations in that area will appear underneath the map. Individuals can then visit the website of the bar association in their area, or call or email the bar association to access a list of attorneys who may be able to help with a case or legal question.
