Vulnerable and Underserved: Victim Advocacy for Incarcerated Male Survivors of Color

"Vulnerable and Underserved: Victim Advocacy for Incarcerated Male Survivors of Color will increase advocates’ awareness of the high rates of prior trauma among incarcerated men and boys of color, and the barriers they face in accessing culturally sensitive support services. Guest presenters include a victim advocate who has provided group and individual counseling for hundreds of incarcerated male survivors of color. The webinar will help advocates better understand and address how the experiences and needs of incarcerated male survivors of color differ due to their identity and custody status, and develop capacity to use the PREA standards to advocate for these survivors’ safety and dignity."
