The paper provides an overview of trafficking in people internationally and discusses migration today, including both push and pull factors that encourage international migration. Illustrations and examples from various regions around the world are highlighted. This document focuses on the need to recognize and respect the labor and human rights of all migrant workers as set out in the UN Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Their Families, 1990.
