Connected Parents, Connected Kids: Integrating a three-generation approach to addressing ACES and IPV within maternal and child health home visiting/perinatal programs

Event Date
Tuesday, June 20, 2023, 12:30PM

The National Health Resource Center on Domestic Violence at Futures Without Violence is launching its new 2023 Connected Parents, Connected Kids (CPCK) curriculum designed for home visiting and perinatal health programs to increase their capacity to effectively address Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) with families. The curriculum highlights our evidence-based intervention, CUES. This universal education, three-generation approach does not require clients to disclose IPV or ACEs, ensuring that all clients and their family members receive information on resources to promote wellbeing and address complicated relationships, including those involving IPV. The curriculum includes frames to address equity and implicit bias.

Presenters will also be sharing lessons learned from our partnership with Education Development Center’s (EDC) Home Visiting Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network (HV CoIIN), where we used quality improvement methods to test the related tools with Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting Programs across the country.
