Justice and Compassion: Empowering Faith Communities in the Prevention and Intervention of Elder Abuse

Older adults are often faith-affiliated. When faced with abuse, their first resource may be someone they know and trust within their faith community. Our panel of speakers will describe challenges and lessons learned when engaging faith leaders to play a critical role in supporting older victims and preventing elder abuse. The discussion will highlight the collaboration between Safe Havens and the ElderSAFE™ Center and how such collaborations can nurture greater community engagement and partnerships between faith communities and community services. This webinar will provide strategies for building capacity in faith communities to address elder abuse.
