Despite advocates' best efforts, many cases of forced marriage go undetected by first responders and other service providers as there is a lack of understanding of the problem and its dynamics. Our goal is to equip service providers at all levels to fill this knowledge gap through comprehensive supportive training and resources. Our training and technical assistance will empower service providers to identify survivors within their communities and caseloads and understand the intersection of forced marriage and other forms of abuse with a focus on domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
This advanced webinar will build upon service providers existing service provision skills to respond to forced marriage situations with a deeper knowledge of the common needs and barriers survivors of forced marriage face in the help seeking process. Participants will receive access to a tailored screening and assessment tool for working with individuals at risk of forced marriage. This tool will be used to address complex case scenarios.
*This webinar is open to all service providers, attendance to Part 1 is encouraged but not required*
Live ASL and Spanish Language Interpretation Will be Available
