Strategies to Advance Greater Elder Safety: Community-Centered Solutions

Futures Without Violence is hosting a convening to address emerging strategies for preventing and responding to elder abuse outside the legal system, including restorative justice, economic justice, legal system off-ramps, and community partnerships.  

Convening Objectives

As a result of attending this convening, participants can expect to:

• Define and apply models of restorative justice, economic justice, and survivor-defined elder justice to their respective programs and work
• Draft and share goals to enhance their community-based services to better serve older adults’ needs for alternatives to the criminal legal system
• Broaden their networks of allied organizations and professionals working to end elder abuse through a restorative and prevention-oriented lens
• Utilize tools and resources to advance equity for older adults
