This webinar will center the importance of building awareness of the context of LGBTQ people's lives as a key component in supporting creative, effective advocacy with LGBTQ survivors of DV/SA. Through story sharing and unpacking case studies, we will expand our understanding of the strengths, vulnerabilities and barriers LGBTQ survivors face in navigating systems and communities, as well as addressing the unique considerations for safety planning and advocacy rooted in the lived experiences of LGBTQ survivors. This session will also look at unique issues and resources specific to advocates supporting survivors in small, rural communities.
