This toolkit was designed to provide LGBTQ communities with strategies to create dialogue on intimate partner violence in communities of color, ways to support survivors, and identify resources for intimate partner violence.

Designed for parents of 2 to 4 year olds, Essentials for Parenting addresses common parenting challenges, like tantrums and whining. Positive parenting skills and techniques can reduce parenting stress and provide parents with ways to handle their child's misbehavior. Skills focus on encouraging good behavior and decreasing misbehavior using proven strategies like positive communication, structure and rules, clear directions, and consistent discipline and consequences. This toolkit includes ideas on how to integrate economic empowerment into your work with survivors of domestic violence through the use of a strengths-based model, an introduction to credit and the importance of credit as an asset, information about Matched Savings Accounts and Individual Development Accounts, and a resource guide to guide you as you start incorporating asset building strategies into your work.

This webinar, held on Monday, April 21, 2014, provided information for both victim advocates working in shelter settings as well as birth doulas, regarding the identification and impact of domestic violence and abuse in pregnant women. Likewise, the benefits of a partnership between these two groups was discussed as a way to further improve pregnancy and birth outcomes for pregnant survivors.
