At this moment, together we bear witness as the pandemic of racial injustice, systemic oppression, and exploitation continues to rage across the country, causing many losses. This moment in time is a call for transformation – a critical opportunity to revisit the roots of our movement to end gender-based violence in ways that can purposefully restore humanity for all. Join NRCDV for a conversation about pivoting our work to meet this moment and co-creating the world we all deserve during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and beyond.

Through their Safety Fund launched in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, FreeFrom collected data from 1,300 survivors in 36 states and Puerto Rico on their financial health, the financial cost of experiencing abuse, what their needs are right now, and how our society can best support them through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. This report details these findings and serves as a call to action for greater investment in and support for the long-term financial security and safety of survivors everywhere.

Part II of the Enhancing Services to Male Survivors webinar series showcases the work of two domestic violence agencies that are leading the way as they expand their services to male survivors. The presenters share lessons learned through this process and offer promising practices to help build capacity to recognize and respond to the needs of male-identified survivors of domestic violence.

On February 20, 2020, the Every Woman Institute released its first-ever Safer Sooner Report. The Safer Sooner Report identifies gaps under current international systems in addressing and preventing violence against women and girls, and maps out a path to a world where every woman can claim her right to live free from violence.
