Hmong women working in domestic violence programs organized a series of meetings to understand the trends and issues in international marriages and to explore possible actions to address abusive international marriages. Their documentation of the problem and its impact, analysis, survivors’ stories, and strategies are captured in Abusive International Marriages: Hmong Advocates Organizing in Wisconsin.

This guide aims to assist legal professionals working with victims of human trafficking in recognizing trafficking victims among existing domestic violence caseloads; in identifying key civil legal remedies and other issues that require exploring in order to effectively assist human trafficking victims, and; in identifying and using other resources to pursue specific legal remedies and secure social services and other benefits for clients.
