Findings indicate that homicide was the leading source of fatal workplace injuries for women, and that female murder victims were much more likely to have been killed by a family member than were male victims.

This study found that type IV workplace homicides -- that is, those involving a personal relationship between the worker and the offender -- had actually declined significantly less than overall workplace homicides and declined the least of the four types.

As part of CDC's DELTA program, Wisconsin developed this five-year strategic plan to using a public health approach to benefit the largest group possible; it builds the capacity of individuals, organizations, and systems to more effectively identify, implement, and evaluate strategies that can prevent first-time perpetration.

This statewide plan was based on a systematic 10-step planning process called “Getting to Outcomes.” The goal was to create and implement evidence-based strategies that prevent first-time perpetration of intimate partner violence.

As part of CDC’s DELTA program, the Rhode Island State Steering Committee developed this domestic violence primary prevention plan as the first step in a long-term process to alter cultural norms, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that support domestic violence. The plan identifies evidence-informed prevention strategies targeting men and teens, as well as several ways to improve community-based organizations' and community members' ability to use and evaluate prevention strategies.
