Sixteen articles are featured which discusses several dimensions and manifestations of the problem from the perspective of a diverse array of activists, practitioners and researchers. Emphases are placed in discussing how violence is intricately connected to issues of inequality and social exclusion. Articles cover issues such as school violence, child labor, and domestic violence. Analyses of the media's role in helping promote or eradicate violence as well as critiques and recommendations for community action and public policies are also provided.
