Sussman of the Center for Survivor Agency & Justice explores how “indirect and lasting economic consequences ripple throughout survivors’ lives long after the abuse has stopped” (p. 83). The article encourage domestic violence advocates to focus not just on clients’ physical safety but also their economic security. Partnerships with experts in consumer protection are suggested.
