Domestic violence in LGBT communities is about abuse of power, manipulation, exploitation, oppression and barriers to service. It is believed to be as prevalent and lethal as in heterosexual relationships, however, there is little available research and many barriers to disclosure. This document, part of a collection designed for domestic violence program advocates, activists working in LGBT communities and those wishing to become allies, provides available incidence and prevalence data on domestic violence and LGBT people in the U.S.
