Although intervention and prevention have long been a part of our approach to addressing issues around domestic and other forms of violence, racial justice has not. In this strategy session from NRCDV's 2021 Prevention Town Hall, presenters will intentionally center Black people’s stories and lived experiences as the impetus for integrating a racial justice-centric approach into our work and mission. Presenters will also consider practical ways to use this approach to recognize and disrupt anti-blackness and racism.

Building on the momentum from the 2020 Prevention Town Hall featuring the East North Central region of the United States, the 2021 event explored prevention strategies that center survivors who are most marginalized, uplift grassroots and community-based organizing, honor the leadership of survivors and advocates who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and promote real transformative change that centers racial justice in our agencies.
