Prevention Programming Content Topic Results

Coaching for Change offers two interactive online training programs, one for high school athletic coaches, and one for coaches working with youth ages 10-14 in community athletic programs.

Facilitated by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network, "The New Playbook: Standing Strong to Promote Non-Violence" is a 2-day skill-building workshop that will strengthen participants’ knowledge and skills to effectively challenge attitudes and behaviors that support multiple forms of violence including gender-based violence. 

Developed in Australia, this curriculum provides learning activities that aim to provide students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, understandings, skills and values related to the Growing and Developing Healthy Relationship topics. Topics include: staying safe, growing bodies, respectful relationships, emotional wellbeing, health literacy, and diversity.

This newsletter focuses on youth-led sexual violence prevention efforts. It includes spotlights on various programs and a discussion of oppression as a root cause of sexual violence.

These online learning sessions for young people of various ages explore feelings about relationships, the meaning and responsibilities of being part of a family, circles of friendships, and qualities of good friends.

The 5 Steps to Protecting Our Children is an introductory guide to help adults protect children from sexual abuse. Using an evidence-informed approach, these guidelines provide simple and practical actions you can take to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

This online video game for youth ages 8-14 opens a dialogue about abuse, addresses the 'rumour mill' they experience, educates about healthy, respectful relationships, and teaches players about places they can go for help.

The Ohio Domestic Violence Network recognizes that Prevention is an emerging priority for forwarding changes that reduce and eliminate intimate partner violence and all other forms of family and sexual violence. This toolkit was developed to be a central source of information on prevention work for those working on the individual, organizational, statewide and/or national levels.

The Speak.Act.Change Youth Advocacy Kit is a service-learning, youth activism program designed to complement any basic dating violence education curriculum. The program gives students the tools to protect themselves and their peers from dating violence.
