NRCDV Spring 2020 Newsletter

Wednesday, April 15, 2020

Every March, the United States celebrates Women's History Month to focus on the contributions and accomplishments of all women, both in historical and contemporary society. Recognizing the achievements of women in all facets of life – science, community, government, literature, art, sports, medicine – has an impact on changing the trajectory of the American historical narrative.

On March 8, NRCDV recognized International Women’s Day, a global day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and promoting action for further social transformation. We acknowledge the beauty and power in diversity, as women around the world come together in solidarity to uphold one another through their struggles and celebration of their victories. NRCDV STANDS together in collective liberation as friends and allies working to build not only thriving communities, but a world where equity, respect, justice, safety, and freedom can be fully realized.

NRCDV celebrates International Women's Day each year by commissioning or purchasing a piece of artwork that honors the struggles and successes that women face. Through this art, we join with women across the world in envisioning and creating a future of autonomy and equality for all women and girls.

We invite you to pause and reflect on women who have inspired you, and consider how you honor them in your work for justice and peace.
