The article reports, “The Department of Defense received 3,192 reports of sexual assaults last year, a number that includes instances of rape, aggravated sexual assault, abusive sexual conduct and indecent assault. However, Defense Department officials estimate the actual number is closer to 19,000.

“Sharon Love’s daughter Yeardley was a college student and an athlete when she was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend in 2010. Since then, Love has started a foundation to speak out and raise awareness about dating violence.
