This "crib sheet" examines key aspects of the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS), the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), and the National Violence Against Women Survey (NVAWS), including the timeframe of data collection, the study sample, key findings, methodology and contextual factors. Updated annually since 2004, these documents outline key information on the number of calls received by the National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH) during the holiday season.

Be the change we wish to see in the world. That is just what the staff of the NRCDV had in mind when we launched the Access Initiative in 2006. The Initiative represented NRCDV's organizational commitment -- as an employer, service provider, and community member -- to individuals with disabilities and accessibility in general.

This discussion provides an opportunity to explore our role when victims ask us to talk to their partners or to help their partners change.

On September 14, 2020, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence and the National IPV Prevention Council, in partnership with the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, and the Ohio Domestic Violence Network, hosted our first ever National Prevention Town Hall, highlighting innovative social change efforts in the East North Central Region of the United States. 

While rigorous evaluations of domestic violence support groups have been quite limited, the broader literature on support group efficacy is informative. Taken together, there is a significant body of evidence indicating that peer support groups can alleviate depression and stress, and increase self-esteem, self-efficacy, and psychological well-being.

This bibliography includes selected journal articles from year 2000 onward and focuses specifically on domestic violence against older women.
