Historically, rates of sexual violence and other forms of violence against women increase in the aftermath of a disaster or crisis. NRCDV's June 2011 TA Question of the Month provides guidance on how to prevent and respond to violence against women in the wake of disasters.

Communities of faith play a unique and vital role in the response to and elimination of domestic violence as they carry the responsibility to protect and nurture the spiritual well being of the community as a whole and its individual members.
