This document presents a review of ten UNFPA-supported projects from ten countries to identify what works in programs to address violence against women, particularly in terms of community ownership and sustainability of projects.

Heath care professionals, such as nurses and mental health service providers, are in a unique position to identify and address the needs of older victims of abuse. This article focuses on three main topics: the dynamics of abuse in later life, a victim-centered response, and working collaboratively with other disciplines to offer a comprehensive response to these complex cases.

The 'DEAF EYES' project at Gallaudet University was established to bring Deaf history to the public and expand our understanding of United States history. The exhibition, book, and other products were produced by Gallaudet University. The two-hour PBS documentary film "Through Deaf Eyes," is a production of WETA Washington, D.C. and Florentine Films/Hott Productions, Inc. in association with Gallaudet University.

This Training Facilitation Guide is an important resource for mosques, religious leaders, social workers, community groups and shelter staff who offer help to Muslim women who currently experience violence in the home. This complete training offers solutions to prevent future violence within the context of the Islamic faith. 

The review analyzed data from 58 evaluation studies of interventions with men and boys. Interventions were rated on their gender approach, using the following categories: gender-neutral - programs that distinguish little between the needs of men and women, neither reinforcing nor questioning gender roles; gender-sensitive - programs that recognize the specific needs and realities of men based on the social construction of gender roles; or gender-transformative - approaches that seek to transform gender roles and promote more gender-equitable relationships between men and women.
