This comprehensive toolkit for advocates provides practical strategies to enhance physical and behavioral health (including mental health and substance use), access to care, and overall well-being for survivors of violence and their children.

Listening to the accounts of survivors and advocates can be a powerful way for all of us to stand with others in their pain and healing, struggles and triumphs. This Technical Assistance Question of the Month (TAQ) discusses how the telling and hearing of advocates’ and survivors’ stories play a critical role in promoting cultural transformation and propelling social change. 

Federal resources are critical to reducing and eliminating violence. Both the House Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (LHHS) Appropriations Subcommittee and the House Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee proposed bills that will maintain some supports for survivors, such as FVPSA programs and rental assistance programs, but also eliminate critical elements that support survivor and community safety and justice.

The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) provides critical state-level violence victimization prevalence data that are not available elsewhere. This sixth and final report using 2016/2017 data focuses on the lifetime experiences of victimization at national and state levels.
