#1Thing Brings A Unified Voice to #DVAM2018

#1Thing has taken Domestic Violence Awareness Month by storm. The unified messaging campaign, developed by NRCDV's Domestic Violence Awareness Project, has been adopted by advocates, agencies, universities, governments, businesses, advocates, law enforcement, students, hospitals, and so many more.

It has been exciting to see the wide variety of ways that #1Thing has been integrated into organizations' and individuals' messaging for DVAM. #1Thing inspires thinking about how individuals can take small steps that lead communities to real social change. It is about harnessing the momentum of our movement - especially at their critical points of intersection - by calling people to specific and collective actions that are informed by the communities most directly impacted.

Each of our “one things” and collective actions are critical to the story of our movement. While each may be unique and personal, when woven together, they create a strong foundation for the world we imagine. And when our “one things” are put into action, they become concrete steps on the pathway to social change. Building that pathway is an investment we make together.

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb

There are so many interesting and creative ways that #1Thing has been used. Read the full newsletter here.
